A New Fashion at the Grammys?

The Grammy's, a time honored tradition of rewarding musical artistry with a coveted statue from the industry that bore them. So then why would anyone be surprised when a hard working artist such as Beck wins Album Of The Year? Perhaps that question is best asked at the source. This is the second time since 2009 Grammy incident involving Mr. West and then winner, Taylor Swift. Originally I was asked to possibly cover the Grammy's is a fun comedy way, be it poking fun at the artists for their music or their fashion. Though, like the rest of society I was distracted by the poor sportsmanship of Kanye West, who for the sake of argument had no stake in that particular game. 

Is Kanye West insane? Probably, but is there something to be said when the artists themselves are not happy with the decisions of the panel? I think that there would be but I am hard pressed to find president for the "the dinosaurs of the grammy's are out of touch" argument. Whether or not I am not a direct fan of any given award winning artist involved, I am able to see and am aware of the work it took for said artist to achieve this milestone. Whatever the message Kanye is trying to send, he just isn't making it clear and in the long run, making himself look like a giant tool-bag. 

Though don't get me wrong, there was some laughable fashion. Rihanna went dressed as a cupcake that someone licked all the frosting off but put back on the tray. And even Kanye himself seemed to be dressed for a remake of Miami Vice that just never happened. 

Whatever the case, I just hope that the new fashion at the Grammy's does not become trash talking or mud slinging of any kind. And if Kanye gets his way, we may end up with only two genres to vote in. Hopefully the Grammy's remain untarnished by the actions of one and continue in their traditions despite the misguided rage of a tortured self proclaimed genius.
