Hey Readers! Thank you all for making my latest review of James Schannep's "Infected" a small internet hit. The author has asked me to place the review on Amazon and it can be found HERE... and below. The latest Click Your Own Poison Game Book from James Schannep, "Murdered," drops this Thursday. Check out the review and stay tuned for my thoughts on the next one, as well as a cool contest for readers. Since the Author enjoyed the review I decided to move it from the news letter to its own spot. ENJOY! ...
The time is present day and a new fad is on the rise. Everlasting youth! A new drug has been designed by two scientists that promises to end aging forever, keeping you young, beautiful and alive for eternity. Barring mortal injury of course. Gilgamyze is its name and it is marketed to the elite. Which is appropriate considering the steep price tag. How much would you pay for freedom from aging and disease?

This is a choose your own adventure book so you are sucked right into the story. I enjoyed the choices it gave me. I decided to go against what I would personally choose my first time through. In classic Zombie Apocalypse story style your morals are always in question. The first choice you are faced with is; "No way am I going anywhere near that poison" or "Sign me up! I will sell my house, my kids, whatever." Based on what you choose there you are then asked what kind of person you are and can tailor the story to your imagination. I have read through it twice and so far have not lasted too long. But as the Author said to me on Twitter, "It wouldn't be a Zombie Apocalypse if everyone lived." Very tongue in cheek and I love it! There are three story lines and about fifty possible outcomes so I have much more to look forward to.

Being a classic zombie fan and a lover of choose your own adventure books it was great to see a project like this come to the internet. One of my concerns was, how does the zombie virus spread if it is a drug one must take? Is it a virus? OK so two of my concerns. My nerdy, nerdy concerns. I was elated to see a cool new spin on the genre. Those that are infected with Gilgamyze spread the chemical through their bites. The victims suffer from their wounds for six hours before they turn. How excruciating!

This book has something for everyone and was an ambitious effort from the publisher and author. I look forward to more ebooks from this company and reading more from James Schannep.
