This Week on the corner Robert Cividanes a comedian based out of Upstate NY will be joining us on the phones this week. Robert has been in Off-Off-Broadway shows and on Television shows such as NYPD Blue and the Sopranos. I ran into Cividanes at the Comedy Zone in Warwick, RI. [Now closed] It was one of the last shows at that location and our first show together ultimately. We became fast friends and bonded over such things as "The Hobbit" and of all things, rehabilitation. I believe in the power of helping others with sharing experiences and laughter. I myself have family members that struggle with addiction. Robert has been clean for eighteen years and going. I included a link below to RECOVER THE LAUGHTER, a touring comedy show that visits rehab centers and helps to heal on laugh at a time. Tune on in this Wednesday, December 11th at 7pm, it's going to be a great time. next week! Wednesday December 18th @ 7pm We will be joined by film maker Richard Griffin. A king of the local and bizarre. I am a huge fan of Richard's and had the chance to work with him once while roasting a close friend this past year. It was really fun insulting someone as a first impression. We got on well and both share a dark sense of humor. I included a photo Gallery of some of Richard's films and projects. Tune in December 18th for all of the Cult Horror you can handle! and possibly even more!
Black X-mas (Remake 2006)- I normally don't go for remakes or "It's coming from inside the house" type movies but this one was fun. A freak is running amok on Christmas and killing off all of the members of a sorority house. I don't want to spoil too much for you but one thing that sold me was what I am calling a bonus kill. Someone is murdered with an icicle through the head and that's not even the best kill scene! This one preyed on my fear of having nowhere to go on the holidays and being from a broken family, I am extra careful of accepting invitations these days. P2- More of a thriller, released in 2007 among your Saw and Captivity varieties. This is about a woman who is trapped inside a parking garage on Christmas Eve and tortured. I know last minute shopping makes me anxious. Ginger Dead Man- Alrighty, we made it! Number 5, last and most certainly least. This is not a Christmas Movie and doesn't have x-mas in it but its Ginger Bread and therefore it counts. This is the story of a killer's ashes being dropped into a batch of... you guessed it! And being brought to life with Electricity. Is it worth a watch? You ask. Well Gary Busy does the voice of good ol' GDM and there are two subsequent sequels... so... YES! Its good garbage. This one just makes me laugh, I am mostly scared holiday treats will go straight to my hips. This one goes STRAIGHT TO THE JUGULAR!
