Kelly Doran It’s that time of year again: Christmas. Love it or hate it, these 5 movies are the end all be all of the season. Weather you revile in the warmth of good cheer, or totally Grinch out, these 5 movies will make you forget the absurd amount of money you just spent, and maybe, just maybe, will make your heart grow 3 sizes. Tis the Season! #5. Bad Santa Bad Santa, starring Billy Bob Thornton as the Man Himself( or the mall Version, anyways) will make you laugh, and make you not feel guilty for being a cynic. As the plot to rob department stores on Christmas Eve crumbles, “Santa” grows to befriend, and maybe even love, the little fat child named Thurman. At the end of the day, it’s more of an anti-Christmas movie, but a classic non the less. *NOT suitable for children, ever. #4. The Nightmare Before Christmas The Tim Burton directed freak show of goblins and ghouls, and Santa, revolves around a Skeleton named Jack, and his incessant need to find another important thing in his life (death?) besides Halloween. His love interest, Sally, warns him that perhaps Christmas is something he should steal from Santa, but he does not heed her warning. On Christmas Eve, led by his dead dog Zero, he flies onto the night delivering toys such as shrunken Heads and snakes. By the end of the movie, Jack realizes the wrong he did, and Slays Oggie Boogie to save Santa. It’s a movie that covers two major holidays, so it’s a must have for busy parents!
#1. It’s a Wonderful Life This true classic focuses on, well, mental illness around Christmas time. A man named George Bailey is ready to call it quits on life, to end it all on Christmas Eve, until the wingless Guardian Angel Clarence Odbody , shows him what the world would be like if George was never born. It’s a Wonderful Life is the ultimate Christmas movie, helping it’s viewers appreciate life a little more. And who doesn’t cry when Clarence gets his wings? More WBOB Reads
