Seventeen notable players in the mobile photo app market have selected the upcoming Mobile Photo Connect conference in San Francisco as the venue to announce their new apps or show publicly for the first time their new or newly upgraded photo apps. They include: Applied Recognition, AtomKnows LLC, BeFunky, CanvasPop, Eversnap Pro, Joindrop - Onepastfive GmbH, Krome Photos, Looksery Inc., MailPix, Orbeus, PhotoGurus, Pixicle, Quirl, Sky Mobile Technologies, Takes Inc., Taopix Ltd, and Walgreens. Mobile Photo Connect, the year's key gathering for executives and entrepreneurs in the mobile photography ecosystem, will be held October 15 at Fort Mason, San Francisco, and will host over 130 photo app developers, imaging companies, mobile vendors, and other industry participants from Asia, Europe and the Americas. The announcements include: Applied Recognition: Building on the company's face recognition technology, Applied Recognition launches FotoFaceTag for Facebook, which automates the tagging of Facebook friends on Android smartphones. AtomKnows LLC: AtomKnows LLC will announce and show a completely new app. Also, after a successful pilot with 40 beta partners, AtomKnows LLC will announce the general availability of its iOS native photo book creation and ordering SDK. In addition, the company will for the first time publicly show its newly updated award-winning iPad photo book app. BeFunky: BeFunky will show a full UI redesign of their photo app, as well as several new features that will set BeFunky apart from any other photo editing app. CanvasPop: CanvasPop will announce their API, which now offers high quality poster and framed prints. Eversnap : Eversnap will launch Eversnap Pro, disrupting event photography with 80% lower event photography pricing, as well as the ability to view professional photos in real-time through the Eversnap app. Joindrop - Onepastfive GmbH: Joindrop will be launching its auto-matching feature, which enables the app to find missing photos taken by friends at the same time and place. It also enables the user to request these photos through one click. The best part: neither the user nor their friends need to upload any photos for this to work! Krome Photos: Krome Photos will launch a completely redesigned iOS app and a new Android app, featuring a faster and easier UI. Both apps will be available for licensing or integration using Krome's API. Looksery Inc.: Looksery will announce an innovative app, featuring amazing real-time face perfecting and transforming effects for selfies. MailPix: MailPix will announce and for the first time publicly show the Photo Print Elf App for IOS & Android. This app allows users to quickly print photos from their camera roll, Facebook, Instagram, or Flickr accounts and pick them up in one hour at over 10,000 retail locations, including CVS and Office Depot. Orbeus: Orbeus will make a new photo app announcement that leverages its automated face and image recognition technology. PhotoGurus: PhotoGurus will launch a new version of its app and web service, which enables users to create a hub of beautiful photo "stories" rather than a never ending stream of digital photos – all this with zero effort from the user. Pixicle: Pixicle will show a pre-release version of their new photobook app. Quirl: Quirl will announce its consumer photo management app, which is currently being tested under a closed beta to understand family behavior in a multi-device environment. Quirl aims to monetize its app both through print output and subscription services. Sky Mobile Technologies: Sky Mobile Technologies will for the first time publicly show the QuickPics Photo Manager app, which brings back the Camera Roll to people's iPhone, with features such as naming/tagging, ability to search photos (by date, name or tag), editing by Aviary, Dropbox and Google Drive integration, and the option to directly upload photos to people's favorite social media sites. Takes Inc.: Takes will for the first time publicly show their Takes – Effortless Videos app, which enables users to easily add motion to their snapshots. Taopix Ltd: Taopix will show the recently launched version 5 of its photobook and gift software platform – which includes Taopix mobile; three brand new user journeys allowing the effortless and quick design of photo books, prints and other photo gifts, on any device. Walgreens: Walgreens will be able to discuss the recently announced version of its QuickPrints API 2.0 |
