As is the tradition for this and every Thanksgiving holiday, here are some of the things you can be thankful for as 2014 comes to an end and hope prevails toward a better new year. In no particular order, we ask you to consider the following:
Spring Cleanups

I am thankful that while the temperature drops, and snow blankets the ground -- that spring is already in the air, as the Red Sox have announced the acquisition of MVP third baseman Pablo Sandoval and former Sox farmhand shortstop, Hanley Ramirez.

Thanks Rhode Island, and here’s hoping we get some badly needed Federal funding love for staying true blue and delivering the lame duck Obama administration a perfect Democratic slate including our first woman to serve as Governor; Gina Raimondo.

Must-See-TV

I give thanks to the Patriots’ Gronk and Brady Show (under the masterful watch of Coach Bill Belichick) continue to juggernaut their way to a post season command and a great shot at another Superbowl.

Leading trailers

The much-anticipated trailer for director J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens will make its debut at 30 cinemas in North America beginning Friday. Although we’ll be making new lists by the time of it’s scheduled December 15, 2015 release.
Avoiding catASStrophe

I'm very thankful that Kim Kardashian’s ass did not break the internet.

The Cos' and effect

I am grateful that Bill Cosby’s career (which is suffering from the biggest media attack since Woody Allen) is not mine, following revelations from eighteen women who have come forward in an attempt to bring to light his history of sexual assault.

The moving target

Thanks to the European Space Agency for the successful landing of the probe module Philae onto a speeding comet some 320 million miles away from Earth and proving that space exploration still shows off the best of humanity.

Imbalance of power

If there is any reason to be grateful for the Ferguson tragedy, it is that this will once again bring to light statistics that deserve to be addressed concerning the obvious imbalance of how the justice system treats people of color. According to stats from 2013, one black man is killed by police, security guards or vigilantes every 28 hours in America.

All about that baste

And last, but certainly not least, let us all hail the real national bird; the turkey. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 45 million turkeys are cooked and eaten in the U.S. at Thanksgiving. That’s about a sixth of the entire population of turkeys in the country so we should be grateful that we have an ample supply to feed our glutinous nature.
