The seventh annual Knowledge is Power 401 Block Party will be held on Sunday, August 17th from 2 pm to 8 pm at Pawtucket's Payne Park (210 West Ave.) with local entertainers, speakers, tables for community organizations and more. The free event, whose theme is nonviolence awareness, will begin with a Nonviolence Motorcycle/Car Parade and also include free food, numerous vendors and fun activities for youth. The day will end with a candlelight vigil in memory of those in the community who have lost their lives to violence. Sponsors to help with expenses for the event are still being sought.
