Love it or hate it, the Batman franchise has officially entered the Ben Affleck era.

Brandon Snyder, director of the upcoming movie tentatively titled "Batman vs. Superman" released images this week, that show off the new Batmobile, featuring Affleck as the Caped Crusader. 

Batman made his first appearance in 1939 in episode #27 of Detective Comics, but since the Dark Knight has gone on to appear in many forms of media, and has been portrayed by many different actors.

From Lewis Wilson's version of the super hero, in the first screen appearance in 1943 on the television program Batman, on through to the iconic Adam West, or the forgettable portrayal by George Clooney in  Batman & Robin, every living generation has had their own Caped Crusader.
