I will be the first one to admit...I LOVE boobs. I think psychologically, we all do. As it is a close link to our childhood, and for most of us, what gave us our nutrients after birth. 

On Episode #117 of The Franchise there was a brief discussion about Breast Cancer in honor of Boobstock, a personal heartfelt tribute to Breast Cancer survivors and a farewell to the show that got Raw Sex started...

The breast is made up of three main parts:

• The Glands: Which produce milk
• The Ducts: The passages that carry milk to the nipple
• Connective tissue: Which holds everything together

Not counting some types of skin cancer, breast cancer in the United States is...

• The most common cancer in women, no matter your race or age
• The most common cause of death from cancer among Hispanic women
• The second most common cause of death from cancer among White, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander and American Indian/ Alaska Native women

Contrary to popular belief, men are not exempt from the disease. 

• It is usually diagnosed between the ages of 60-70 years old
• For every 100 cases of breast cancer, men are less than one

In 2009 the CDC lists that: 

• 211,731 women and 2001 men in the United States were diagnosed with breast cancer.
• 40,676 women and 400 men in the United States died from breast cancer

A letter of admiration

This session of Raw Sex is dedicated to the women of the world, who have managed to smile through their diagnosis of breast cancer, who have found a way to feel pretty and maintain their sexuality through such trying times.

Society dictates that bald heads are masculine, yet you rock them proudly.
That large breasts are preferred, or an important part of a women's sexual attractiveness, yet you choose life over vanity.

That you stand strong in your fight with a beautiful brave face despite all odds and that you find your strength within yourself, NOT from what others say.

AND through all of that, these women aren't even fighting for themselves, they are fighting for the ones they love.

This is my letter of admiration, one of my "Proud to be a woman" moments.
Thank you for standing up to societies norms and for showing future generations that it's ok to be proactive about your health, without fear of social persecution.

To the boys of The Franchise, 


I cannot thank you enough! For sharing your air time with me, for asking great questions and for having faith in me and in Raw Sex. It was so much fun and the round table discussions were hysterical. I will always be calling in to harass you and give you a hard time and hope both Bobby Woowoo and Ferro will always know they can drop by to visit Raw sex at it's new home, Fridays at 10pm only on 990wbob.com

Ladies, 

This session is for you! You've seen the breast self exam pamphlets everywhere, but I bet you've never given yourself one. No one cares more about your health...than YOU. Be proactive, get to the doctor at the first sign of anything wrong. Do not let society dictate how you feel about yourself. You are beautiful inside and out but only you can see that or control it. Happiness comes from within and as I always say, education chases away fear.
