In many different roles in life, some of us may find we are more comfortable "taking the lead," or some may enjoy a more passive approach with certain projects. The same goes for the bedroom, there is usually one person who is more dominant in a sexual situation and one more submissive. A submissive by definition is: One ready to conform to authority or will of others; meekly obedient or passive.  But don't be confused! Some of us who are leaders in the world of business enjoy being someone else's pet, and that "nerdy" guy you make fun of by the water cooler, may have a harem of women whom enjoy obeying his every command.

I won't go into the world of BDSM or too detailed discussion about dominant or submissive roles in this blog (I'll save it for an episode of Raw Sex) but I will say, in my professional world... I am strong, independent, a leader, a planner, a go getter. Behind closed doors my sexual preferences take a sharp left turn. I enjoy feeling helpless and taken advantage of, the "damsel in distress" feeling. Some may feel they are comfortable in both roles which is termed  a "Switch."

Through Twitter, I've had the pleasure of befriending  Mr. Sinclair Sexsmith, a writer, teacher, and coach "who specializes in sexualities, genders and relationships." Since 2006 Sinclair has been writing the SugarButch Chronicles, a  detailed guide through the journey of Sinclair's sexual adventures. 

In the new year, Sinclair will be directing a 5 week submissive "obstacle course" called "Submissive Playground." An online course where you can explore your submissive side, learn more, and meet others who may share your interests, questions and concerns. There will be assignments, tasks and experiments to bring you closer to your submissive self. The course is not limited to folks in relationships or singles, a particular gender or sexual preference, it is not just for subs either! There is a cost for this program, but there are options for all income levels.
