Freddy Choyle In 2012 the automobile innovators, Tesla made public their Model S in the US. It received multiple awards and exceeded sales expectations. However the price tag on this modern wonder starts at $70k. In a recent interview on CNN, Tesla CEO Elon Musk discussed the companies plans for a more affordable electric car. "Our mass-market, affordable car is about three years away," Musk said. "That's the car we've always wanted to make."the CEO said according to CNN. The new affordable electric ride will be drastically less expensive then it's Model S predecessor. Musk predicts the stickers price to be in the neighborhood of $35k, half the cost of the luxury Model S. Tesla is said to release an SUV model in late 2014 that could be in the MSRP rage of $80k plus. The vehicle is said to not be ready for mass production until 2015. Musk also told CNN of plans to develop an electric pickup, although the time table on that could be as long as five years.
