Pal - [email protected] It's amazing what spawns from a simple hour of television. Well in this case a zombie apocalyptic hour of programming. The Walking Dead (set to return with new episodes Feb 9th) is set to release their own brand of survival kit. Most shows have action figures, or collectible card sets, not this show. It's not enough to transport people all be it briefly into a different world each week. They want you to be prepared. Working in conjunction with emergency readiness company My Family First, the popular TV show hopes to have their survival kit on the shelves soon. The contents of the kit are expected to include supplies for two for a period of up to 72 hours, which when you think about it is not that long. In fact most of the gear in the kit would not be extremely relevant if indeed you woke up in the middle of a zombie blood thirsting world . Yes certainly a first aid kit, and a flashlight would be high on the list, however space blankets and ponchos are not. The one thing there will be no shortage of is clothing. Zombies prefer to not carry a wardrobe while traveling, leaving plenty of clean fresh outfits for survivors to pillage from in vacant homes and cars. The price tag on this bag of semi useful goodies, $130. I hope there's something more then powdered rations for food in that kit for that price. If they wanted to build an effective zombie survival kit, while keeping the average household budget in mind, well they should have just asked. The Pal Zombie Survival Kit, will retail for $99.99, some $30 less expensive then the "name" brand. My kit has only three items, all of equal importance. A comfortable pair of running shoes, a set of sharp knives and some Twinkies. I know it's a cliche at this point, but it's true, Twinkies are editable for longer then we will be in this imaginary world.
