Monday once again is shortly approaching which means its another fantastic night of 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast!!! Featuring the absolute best in live New England music along with hilarious comedy hosted by Doug Key, start your week off right at The Spot on 101 Richmond Street or log on to 990WBOB.COM to listen in to the live broadcast starting at 9pm. With a wide variety of beers & mixed drinks, tasty food and excellent vibes, it's a no-brainer that The Spot is the place to be every Monday to get your weekly dose of entertainment. Check out who we have playing this week: Sister Mary: Sister Mary could best be described as a love child between Neil Young and Dolly Parton. She is heartfelt, optimistic, dark, warm, and biting all at the same time. Her fans are people of all ages, regions, and backgrounds. She plays alongside rockers and rollers, rappers, punks, old time folk players, and more. She has shared her music through DIY touring across much of the United States, and plans to eventually play in every state in the union. She'll be opening things up at The Spot on Monday, check out her Bandcamp page right here to get a sneak peek of her musical brilliance. The Stilts: One day they woke up and they were The Stilts. They didn’t know it know it, but they were. Everyone else knew it; although, they didn’t know it either. It was a work of fate. Something was different in the air that led them to this point. These down home rock & rollers will blow you away with they catchy songs and rustic sound at The Spot so definitely check them out. Miniscule Mustache: Born from a love of music and facial hair, Miniscule Mustache is a band comprised of musicians with eclectic backgrounds. They enjoy spewing rock, folk, blues, funk, and sounds that can’t even be categorized, all over the audience. With their musical powers combined, they blend these genres into a single wave of sonic pleasure. Check out their Facebook page right here for a taste of what to expect. Ben Walsh: Ben moved to Providence from suburban Connecticut 5 years ago to teach kindergarten. After getting a loop machine as a gift, he quit teaching to make music and study Physics full time. He uses the loop machine to put down each part of his songs (drums, keys, guitar, vocals) one at time so the audience can hear and see the song being constructed piece by piece. This past fall and winter he recorded his debut album using self-taught mixing and mastering skills. He wrote and performed all the lyrics and music and designed the album art himself. He'll be performing at The Spot on Monday and you pre-order Ben's debut right here. As with every Monday at The Spot with 990WBOB, a great time is always guaranteed. Check out 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast page or the Mondays On Blast Facebook event page for more information on what bands will be playing in the future at the ultimate destination to kick the week off right.
