With a wide variety of beers & mixed drinks, tasty food and excellent vibes, it's a no-brainer that The Spot is the place to be every Monday to start your week. Young Pandas: Born by the soul of Prince and Bill Withers and wrapped up in the overtones of Passion Pit and Phoenix is the sound of New England based band Young Pandas. Rising out of collaboration on a project with Jason Goldstein, Grammy winning engineer for The Roots, the story of Young Pandas follows a group of musicians hell bent on making music that will last a lifetime. They have a sound that is both edgy and current as well as reminiscent of classic Soul, Hip Hop, and Woodstock Rock & Roll, promoting a modern blend of the raw, organic approach to music while influenced by the sounds of Indie music today. Milo Bigwig: A rock band consisting of Nick Martin, Nick Moreira, Austin Wald, and Tim Moreira, Milo Bigwig will be gracing the spot with their presence tonight. Just a group of young teens, come down to The Spot and see what they can do. Check out their Facebook page for more info. VulGarrity: Siblings Shawn & Tracey Garrity combine forces to bring one of the most explosive two piece bands in Providence today. VulGarrity merges the sounds of a bass, drums, keys & guitar to create amazing rock & roll, the only way to experience it to the fullest is to see it live. Give their newest album Funkeology a listen and check out their website for more info on this band that will blow your mind. Nymphidels: A powerfully spectacular alt-rock duo consisting of Pat Flanagan on drums and Jess Moroney on guitar and vocals, The Nymphidels are huge favorites of ours at 990WBOB and when they turn up the volume on Monday you'll find out why. Groovy tunes that harken back to alt-rock's glory days of the 90's, once you hear this duo perform you will definitely be hooked. The Nymphidels current have their EP, A Band In Places, available and feel free to ask Jess and Pat about it after they play. As with every Monday at The Spot with 990WBOB, a great time is always guaranteed. Check out 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast page or the Mondays On Blast Facebook event page for more information on what bands will be playing in the future at the ultimate destination to kick the week off right.
