Steve Allain For this Monday's on Blast singer-songwriter Steve Allain brings his many years of experience and diversity of styles to what is often called a “genre-defying” set of original songs. Although mostly performing as a solo artist, Steve’s past musical collaborations include playing in classical ensembles, jazz quartets, experimental chamber groups and rock and roll bands. His dynamic voice and solid guitar playing, which varies from flatpicking to fingerstyle, create an engaging mix of music. http://www.steveallain.com www.brianmckenzie.com Brian McKenzie Brian Mckenzie is a singer songwriter who takes elements of the country/roots blend of Americana and adds his clean, smooth vocal style to create a sound once described by a club owner as “Ameri-Crooner”. He draws on influences that range from recent artists such as Chris Isaak, Ryan Adams, Pete Yorn, and Glen Phillps to classic voices like Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. Rather than simply emulate these artists and styles, however, Brian blends them together like a cocktail shaker would seamlessly meld separate ingredients into a cohesive, well mixed drink that you can easily get lost in. The Benedictions The Benedictions were formed in February of 2009 when Providence folk music veteran, singer/ songwriter G.W. Mercure decided to put together a rock n roll band. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d come across the likes of drummer Mike Tomasso, bass player Rob Shot, and guitar slinger Kelly Burke. http://thebenedictions.com/ Comments are closed.
