The Rotunda #170 10/15/18 - Rhode Island’s next Attorney General returns to the Rotunda to talk about his desire to continue his career in public service, having served admirably as US attorney for Rhode Island in the Obama administration. He also talks about the process behind information requests, which is a lot more than lay people would think it is, and whether he would have handled rep Morgan’s requests differently than they were. We also hear some of his feedback form the campaign trail, and what Rhode Islanders really want to see out of the AG office. A must listen!
Pawtucket city council candidate Pamela Braman visits in the second segment and shares a heretofore unknown fact: she was a resident of Scott’s district when he ran for council! She also talks about the experience of being an independent candidate in heavily Democratic Pawtucket. Not to be missed are the bookend segments, where Scott and Allan talk about the state of the RIGOP, the governor’s race, the recent closing of Nordstrom’s and whether or not it is palatable for public office holders or candidates to block those they do not like on social media. Also, why is it ok for some media personalities to post hateful things about one race or gender but not others? Shouldn’t that all fall into the trash bin of history? There’s a little something for everybody in this podcast!
