The Rotunda #137 1/29/18 - In his most ambitious Social Justice Jerk of the week segment, Scott takes on none other than the National Football League. Why the heck is he doing this right before the Super Bowl? You will find out in the first segment. As a special treat we also get his DACA solution which will be sure to piss off the left and the right, simply because it makes too much sense.
Cameron Pond, longtime friend of the show, calls in for segment number 2, in which he outlines why the Massachusetts Gaming Board commissioner needs to go. Wait till you hear the case against this guy and you will be left wondering, how does he hang in there through Democrat and Republican administrations alike? As if all this weren’t enough, new WBOB personality Mad Mel hops on to discuss her show, which is going to be heavy on the horror movie genre. Scott gets his geek on while asking her about her favorites, what makes a good movie, and what the hell is up with Pinhead and Freddy Kruger anyway? Those of you who tune in just for the odd news segment will be disappointed this week – Scott cut it out for this show in order to call out the DCYF yet again. It’s really something to think about, give it a listen and I guarantee you will DEMAND answers and accountability! The Rotunda #122 10/2/17 - In an emotional first segment the day after the mass murder in Las Vegas, Scott takes the audience through his thoughts on the tragedy, and what we, all of us, need to do in order to bring some sanity back to this world. What could possess someone with no record, not even a parking stop, to murder at last count almost 60 people, and injure at least 500 more? This first segment will leave you with a strategy that we can all use to help stop the madness.
Boston based activist Cameron Pond chimes in for the second segment to offer his thoughts on some global issues, including the Royhinga Muslims in Myanmar as well as the recent Catalonian independence referendum. Former resistance symbol Aun San Suu Kyi has suddenly, apparently turned into the very oppressor that she fought against for decades. Our northern neighbors are also featured in this broadcast, as a young NHL player dared to question his country’s stance on refugees after an attack in Canada, with the usual response. Was he right to do so, or should he have kept his mouth shut? The Rotunda #117 8/14/17 - After what can only be described as a horrific act of domestic terrorism, Scott leads off talking about the Charlottesville attack. How, in 2017, as we here? Why can we not see past skin pigmentation? Was Martin Luther King’s struggle for nothing? As if that wasn’t enough, we also have the North Korea threat to worry about. Are we really on the precipice of annihilation, a la the Cuban Missile Crisis?
Turning to local issues, Scott talks a little potential Election 2018. With Raimondo’s fundraising machine in full swing, is her reelection an inevitability? He also takes a shot at a giant of RI industry, for what he sees as extreme hypocrisy. Tune in and listen to him shoot from the lip! As an added bonus, longtime friend of the program Cameron Pond calls in to tell us about his foray into running for public office. Fans of the WildSide are going to be real interested in the last segment, as the running blood feud between Rotondo and Clyde takes another shocking turn! The Rotunda #95 2/27/2017 - Back from Europe, Scott catches the audience up on some of the hijinks across the pond, and speaking of ponds, Cameron Pond calls in to discuss the recent election of the DNC chairman. Is this going to be a good thing, courting more of the centrist Obama/Clinton voters, or will this further turn off the party’s growing progressive wing? Barbara Ann Fenton also calls in from the RIGOP to talk about the recent developments in the not-so-cold war between Governor Raimondo and Speaker Mattiello, and what that means as we start turning our attention to the statewide races in 2018.
As if that wasn’t enough, we have tensions brewing in district 60 in Pawtucket, as well as some Trump sprinkled in for good measure.
