The Tyler Salk Show #40 10/29/19 - The Patriots are 8-0, but haven’t really been tested so far this year. That might change this week when the Pats visit Baltimore. Tyler was joined by Crossing State Lines Podcast host Jacob Marrocco to preview the matchup versus the Ravens.
Tyler also discussed the newly announced plans to allow college athletes to profit off of their likeness. Psycho Sports #248 1/16/18 - There are people who are passionate about sports, and then there are people who are so psycho about them that they need to be locked up. Join Tyler Salk as he welcomes sports talk into the new year.
While it is the middle of Winter, the most exciting time of the game of Summer is here. Nick Friar of the New Bedford Standard Times and WPRI-TV stops by to discuss the latest of the Red Sox Hot Stove. Why has it been so slow going for the BoSox? What name does Nick expect to be putting on a Boston uniform next season? After a week of arrogance towards the Patriots matchup against the Titans, the Patriots… didn’t let their fan base down. Jacob Marrocco from The Independent (RI) breaks down the game, as well as the Jaguars-Steelers matchup. Should be last weeks play of Jacksonville have you concerned for New England? Ryan Fox jumps into the conversation with Tyler to help preview the game. What could lead to a Jacksonville Super Bowl birth? What are the keys to this game? You don’t need to call the cops on these psychos. Because if there’s one thing we can all be crazy about, it’s sports. Psycho Sports #244 11/28/17 – In this hour of sports, insanity has hit the show. News broke that Eli Manning of the New York Giants was benched, which has Ryan screaming for GM Jerry Reese and HC Ben MacAdoo’s head and vehemently blaming them for Eli’s struggles this season (warning NSFW language). Though Tyler disagrees with the benching, he dropped the hot take saying that Eli is a below average NFL starting quarterback. Tyler stated he could name 16 other better starting QBs (even though he's yet to name all 16 QBs though), which brought the Pal on air to defend Eli Manning.
Also with this past game with Miami Dolphins, is it easy to say that the New England Patriots are far and above the best team in the NFL right now? Or are the Dolphins that bad? Tyler and Ryan have a hearty discussion on that matter. Joining the show first is Jake Marrocco of the Independent to breakdown the upcoming big college basketball game between URI and PC. Which team has the advantage this time around? Which player is going to be an impact? Jake answers those questions plus more that Tyler tosses his way. Then towards the end, they are joined by John Boccacino of SB Nation Buffalo Bills to give an insight of the Buffalo Bills before the upcoming Bill-Pats game this Sunday. What was the locker room like after the benching of starting QB Tyrod Taylor for Nate Peterman and then the loss to the LA Chargers in Week 11? Did the victory over the Chiefs change people’s perspective about the Bills team? How has the defense fared since the trade of DT Marcell Darius during the NFL trade deadline? John and Tyler discuss that and more. Psycho Sports #226 7/24/17 - It's all things Red Sox this time around on Psycho Sports. However some of it is not in a good thing. It turns out that confrontation between Red Sox SP David Price and MLB Hall of Famer & NESN Red Sox color commentary Dennis Ecksersley was more of a one-sided affair. where Price verbally attacked & humiliated Eckserley in front of the whole organization because Ecksersley made a small criticism about a Red Sox pitcher's performance. Ryan brings the heat on the matter and does not hold back. After tempers cooled, Tyler & Ryan discuss which Red Sox pitchers should take the mound if they make the postseason and what they say may surprise some.
Joining the duo is Jake Marrocco of the Cranston Herald to discuss whether or not the Red Sox should make a move at the trade deadline, which is a week away, to bolster their bullpen or at third base. Who is a reasonable target? What will the Red Sox have to give up in order to make a trade? And will the arrival of top prospect 3B Rafael Devers change any plans or not? Psycho Sports #221 6/12/2017 – It’s a special one hour episode this time around with Tyler & Ryan. With the MLB Draft going on, the two discuss whether or not two-way players (i.e. players who can both pitch and hit the ball) are becoming a new thing with the emergence of possible prospects in this draft. Also with the Philadelphia Phillies & Houston Astros coming up on the Boston Red Sox schedule, the duo breakdown and preview each opponent.
Joining the show the head editor of the Cranston Herald Jacob Marrocco to talk all things Celtics, including what their off-season plans should be like whether or not to sign PG Isiah Thomas, keep #1 overall pick to draft a player or trade for a player like an Anthony Davis or a Paul George, or go after a Gordon Heyward in free agency just to name a few moves. Also Jacob, Tyler, and Ryan continue on with the topic of super teams in the NBA and whether or not it's either helping or hurting the sport. Psycho Sports #216 5/8/2017 - It’s not a good day to wear green. The Boston Celtics have dropped their last two games against the Wizards to even up the series 2-2, including in Game 5 as the Celtics let the Wizards go on a 26-0 run in the third quarter alone. Tyler and Ryan discuss what happened during Game 5, what problems are plaguing the Celtics right now (too many turnovers, other players not name Isaiah Thomas need to step up), can they fix those problems, and can they stand up to the Cleveland Cavaliers if they get to the Eastern Conference finals.
Joining the show is Jacob Marrocco of the Cranston Herald to talk all things Red Sox. Did the Red Sox botch up things at third base when they traded Travis Shaw to the Milwaukee Brewers? Does the Chris Sale trade make up for any offseason blunders? How are the Red Sox going to fare against the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays later on in the week? Jacob discusses and more. Psycho Sports 211 4/3/2017 - It’s Opening Day as the Boston Red Sox opened the 2017 MLB season with a 5-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Fenway Park. Tyler and Ryan go over that victory as well as give a preview of the team’s remaining games this week against the Pirates and the Detroit Tigers.
Joining them in the second half is Jacob Marrocco, editor of the Cranston Herald, to talk some Celtics basketball. Can they Celtics overtake the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers for the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference? How will they fare against the remaining teams on their schedule? Which Celtic needs to step up their play? All these questions will be answered. Psycho Sports #207 3/6/2016 - Tyler Salk and Ryan Fox continue breaking down the AL East Division as this week they talk all things Tampa Bay Rays. Which player on the current roster can help perennial All-Star, Evan Longoria? Can starting pitcher Chris Archer rebound after an abysmal 9-19 season? Who on the current team is going to step up at the plate?
Which minor leaguers should Ray fans keep an eye on? Tyler and Ryan discuss these matters and more. Also joining them is Jacob Marrocco, Sports Editor of the Cranston Herald, to talk some PC Friars & URI Rams Men’s basketball. How are the Friars doing post-Kris Dunn & Ben Bentil? How will each team fare in their respective conference tournament? Jacob & Tyler discuss. Psycho Sports #199 1/24/17 - It’s starting to get cold outside, but with football season over we can start to look forward to the warm days of summer. What baseball news have you missed? Host Tyler Salk is joined by station veteran Pal to discuss the state of the Red Sox rotation, the American League East and more.
It’s not baseball season yet though, and with 990 saving the football talk for their Super Bowl special, there is no better time to catch up on the NBA. Warwick Beacon assistant sports editor Jacob Marracco also joins the Psycho Sports team to discuss the Celtics. With recent home losses to weak opponents, are the Celtics in trouble? Find out, in this weeks episode. |
