Cobblestone Press Episode #38 10/4/2016 - Have you ever been so fed up with the way politics were conducted in your community that you decided to stop complaining and do something about it?
That's exactly what Moira Jayne Walsh did in 2016. After co-authoring the article, 101 Things I've Done (and Do) at $2.89 an Hour, in 2015 to highlight the wage inequity that service industry workers are subjected to in Rhode Island, Walsh used that momentum to launch her first ever bid for public office. And now, after defeating incumbent Thomas Palangio, Walsh now holds the keys to the seat in Rhode Island's District 3 in the State House. From single mother and waitress, to a member of our legislative body, Walsh has put her money where here mouth is, and will work to address some of the issues she believes are most important to Rhode Island's prosperity.
