The Los Angeles Clippers have just rejected a trade that would send Kevin Garnett and Coach Doc Rivers to the Golden State. The deal deteriorated when the Clips "refused to budge" on the offers for DeAndre Jordan, who would be a straight up trade for Garnett, and the inclusion of two first round picks for Rivers' contract buyout.
The deal was almost certain to be done by the end of Tuesday, barring any inevitable balks from either team. The rejection comes as a surprise to many, including the Celtics, who were certainly getting the sweeter end of the swap.
The Celtics will now face another year of Grandpa Garnett, and add to it an unhappy coach, who's under contract for another 3 years and $21 million. The Clippers will continue to interview new coaching candidates and hope to have someone in place by week's end.

It took nearly two full periods for the Bruins to remember how to play hockey, but the Blackhawks were unable to capitalize on Boston's sluggishness, keeping the door open for a Boston victory.
After Boston was outshot 19-4 in the first period of game 2, it seemed like the Bruins had a long night ahead of them... But Tuuka Rask put the entire team on his shoulders Saturday night, sending the Stanley Cup Finals back to Boston tied at one.

Notre Dame is a school filled with tradition; none bigger than the touching of the sign.
Everybody knows College Football is drenched in tradition from coast to coast. Most major universities have some sort of quirk that players buy into before a college football game. Every Notre Dame football player touches the historic sign on the way out of the locker room that says "Play like a Champion Today." Texas players touch a giant set of bull horns to get them fired up on their way to the field. The Ohio State band (best damn band in the land) scripts Ohio State on the field before every home game and one lucky member gets to dot the “I”. Michigan players run under Go Big Blue banner from the booster club before every home game. Auburn has the oak trees at Toomer's Corner and Clemson has Howard's Rock.

That is how much game time elapsed before we had a winner for Game 1 of the 2013 Stanley Cup.

It was a long journey from Cuba to the United States for Yasiel Puig... but the trek from the minors to Chavez Ravine has been a relatively short one.
When a top prospect gets his first call up to the Big Show, they step onto the field under a spotlight. Expectations are high, patience is short, and the results are often disappointing. There is a lot of pressure put upon these young shoulders, and many of these prospects are fast-tracked to the Majors before they are ready. However, in recent years, there has been an influx of youngsters who are making an impact almost immediately, and the Dodgers seem to have one of these budding stars in Yasiel Puig.
