It has been one incredible ride to the Final Four in this year's NCAA men's basketball tournament. Louisville is the only number one seed left standing and plays Cinderella story Wichita State in one matchup. The other matchup features Michigan, making their first trip to the Final Four since 1994, taking on the Syracuse Orange Men. After a fantastic first weekend in the NCAA men's basketball tournament, the sweet 16 is set. Thus far a plethora of upsets have occured in the first week of this tournament. Oregon, Wichita State, La Salle, and Florida Gulf Coast University have all defied the odds to make it to the field of 16. Will these schools be able to keep their magical runs going, or will Cinderella's glass slipper shatter on the dreams of these small schools in this week's slate of games. The Bruins have been truly suffering from the dog days of March as of late. Four straight losses, inconsistent play, and injuries have had the Bruins stuck in a funk which has had fans, coaches, and players scratching their heads. The Bruins made some changes before Monday evening's game with the Toronto Maples. They put Brad Marchand on the first line and moved struggling forward Milan Lucic down to third line. Would Coach Julien's changes help the struggling Bruins, or would the sudden changes give rise to a fifth straight loss for Boston? One day after traveling to Dallas only to lose in Jason Terry's lone star state return, the Celtics were looking to bounce back against the Memphis Grizzlies. Boston had been on a 3 game losing streak before taking on Memphis Saturday evening on the road. Boston would need an extraordinary effort to defeat the Grizzlies in Memphis and stop their recent losing streak. It's that wonderful time of the sports year. A time where grown men and women put all their time and energy in filling out brackets, only to just throw them out the next day. Well sorry to disappoint those people but just because you can't pick a good bracket doesn't mean the tournament is going to stop. The beginning of the 12-13 NBA season all Boston media and fans kept talking about is how great Rondo is, the streak he had, and how he is the centerpiece of the Boston Celtics. Since then number 9 has faced unfair scrutiny from an injury and has people saying to trade Rajon Rondo. Well Celtics fans you could not be more wrong. The dog days of March continued for the Boston Bruins Wednesday evening. The Bruins traveled to Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada to take on the sixth seeded conference rival Jets. It looked very good for the Bruins early as Boston took an early 1-0 lead into the third and final period. However the tide quickly changed for the Bruins as three third period goals from the Jets sent Boston home with more than a sour taste in their mouths after a tough loss to the Jets. The Miami Heat took their historic winning streak into the TD Garden Monday evening for a matchup with one of their most heated rivals, the Boston Celtics. Despite Kevin Garnett missing the game due to flu-like symptoms, the Celtics were more than ready to give LeBron James and company a fight to the finish. |
