![]() Normally I would be talking about NHL, NBA, or the MLB around this time... but this story cannot go unnoticed. In 2011, ESPN's E:60 filmed a documentary on former WWE and WCW wrestler Scott Hall's fall from the glory of being a wrestling icon and his descent toward rock bottom. Even before that, the very public drug and alcoholism problem with Jake "The Snake" Roberts could bring a tear to any grown man's eye. Roberts and Hall were two of the biggest wrestling legends from the 80s and 90s. Recently they had made more headlines for being washed up drug users than wrestling icons. Former WCW World Champion Diamond Dallas Paige has gone above and beyond in helping these two legends and thousands of others with his program DDP Yoga. DDP started his program to help heel from his back injury when finding out about yoga from his wife Kimberly. Paige has had great success in his life after wrestling with his yoga program which has made him a fitness guru. DDP has most recently used his yoga program as a way to save to of his greatest from the wrestling business friends from their demons.
Jake Roberts volunteered to come be a part of Paige's program and had a very bumpy road to get where he is now. DDP recorded many of Jake Roberts early moments in the program. One very powerful video, which can be found on YouTube, documents DDP picking Jake up from the airport and struggling to even get the strung out Roberts to even close the door of the car. Since then, Jake is proud to be over two months sober and has faced his demons head on with this program. With the help of DDP, Jake Roberts is eating and exercising on a daily basis. Jake looks and feels better than he has in decades and his turn around would not have happened without the help of his friend DDP and DDP Yoga. Scott Hall was another friend who Paige contacted over the phone in his recent videos. Hall said to DDP and Jake Roberts that he had no motivation to live and had nothing but vodka in his body for days including for his breakfast. Hall agreed to accept the help of DDP and Roberts and agreed to go to Paige's sober house in Atlanta to get the help he so desperately needed. Hall admitted that seeing the changes that Jake had made inspired the man formally known as Razor Ramon to make a positive change in his life. Through DDP's Twitter a picture recently surfaced that showed Scott Hall arriving in Atlanta to start DDP Yoga. The wrestling community has feared the worst for Hall and Roberts but with hope and help from DDP they have a chance and an opportunity to enjoy the rest of their lives in a healthy, active, drug and alcohol free lifestyle. To Mr. Hall and Mr. Roberts we are rooting for you and behind you 110% and for DDP on behalf of the wrestling community thank you very much. You give us all hope there are still great human beings in this world. For more information on DDP Yoga visit their site. -Stephen Moul |
