#FSU The New Number 1

After Auburn's last second heroics to knock off in state rival Alabama the stage was set for a new number one team in the land. Alabama's lost creates all types of national championship discussions and moves Florida State into the drivers seat for the big game.

The New Top Five

#1 Florida State - last week #2 - The ACC championship game will feature the Seminoles and the Duke Blue Devils. Although Duke has had it's best season in history the Cinderella story will end against the Seminoles.The FSU offense is to powerful and talented for the Blue Devils. This is a sure mismatch in every way. FSU should cruise into the BCS title game with a conference title.

#2 Ohio State - last week #3 - The weakest of the top five teams Ohio State has faced few challenges this season. Narrowly escaping Michigan with a victory this week the Buckeyes once again showed the nation they are beatable. In fact other than the Wolverines, Wisconsin was the only team on the Ohio State schedule in 2013 worthy of even mentioning. They face a daunting challenge in #10 Michigan State this Saturday in the Big Ten conference championship. This just might finally be the contest that Ohio State does not walk away happy from.

#3 Auburn - last week #4 - After improbable victories against both Georgia and Alabama the Tigers are a team of destiny. After Saturday's win Auburn is lined up to play #5 Missouri for the SEC championship. Auburn has one loss in 2013 preventing them from the #2 spot many (especially in the south) believes they should be. An Auburn win and an Ohio loss would remove any doubt that the Tigers should play for all the marbles.

#4 Missouri - last week #5 - The Tigers narrowly escaped Johny Manziel and the Aggies this past weekend. However the test proved to Missouri fans that they are an elite program. To further illustrate that point Missouri will have to take out Auburn in the Georgia Dome Saturday to win SEC title.

#5 Alabama - last week #1 - The Crimson Tide do not loose often however when they do it's memorable. Who will forget the way Alabama lost to Auburn. A returned field goal a 100 plus yards. No expert could have predicted that. The nation was stunned. As was coach Nick Sabin. He and his team no longer control their own destiny they will have to wait now for a Bowl match up.
