Last Sunday was none other than Mother’s Day and what better time to show your appreciation to the woman who raised you by taking her out to the ball game. And the only game in town is at McCoy Stadium with your Pawtucket Red Sox. In Sunday’s matinee, it was the weekend series between the PawSox and the visiting Rochester Red Wings. The Red Wings took the first game and split the doubleheader on Saturday night as the PawSox looked to try to win and split the weekend series. Pitching for the PawSox was Eduardo Rodriguez, making his third rehab start.
It was a back-and-forth affair between the two teams. The Red Wings got on the board with a run in the top 4th and a solo home run by 1B Kennys Vargas to make it 2-0. The PawSox then tied things up in the bottom 4th with a 2-run shot by RF Justin Maxwell. However Red Wings CF Byron Buxton hit his own solo shot to make it 3-2 in the 6th and that’s where the score stood for the remainder of the game
After the game, PawSox skipper spoke to the media, covering such topics as Rodriguez’s start, how his rehab with the team went, the team’s performance in the game, and much more. Also, starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez spoke with the media as well about his start in today’s game as well as the condition of his knee, and more. Click Play to Listen to Both Interviews
