After a long and successful road trip, the Pawtucket Red Sox returned home to play in front of the McCoy faithful. They started things off with a 3-game weekend series with their International North division rivals, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs.
In Game 1, PawSox sprinted to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. However the Iron Pigs were able to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the 6th inning. However PawSox shortstop Marco Hernandez drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 7th to make it 6-5 while RHP Roman Mendez nailed down the save in the top of the 9th.
