LISTEN: PawSox Cook IronPigs in Weekend Series Opener

After a long and successful road trip, the Pawtucket Red Sox returned home to play in front of the McCoy faithful. They started things off with a 3-game weekend series with their International North division rivals, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. 

In Game 1, PawSox sprinted to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first. However the Iron Pigs were able to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the 6th inning. However PawSox shortstop Marco Hernandez drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 7th to make it 6-5 while RHP Roman Mendez nailed down the save in the top of the 9th.
 
After the game, PawSox skipper Kevin Boles sat down with the media to talk about what happened, how starter Aaron Wilkerson did in his debut, the team’s big first inning, and much more.
