Ryan L. Fox It was a quiet, warm New England evening in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The perfect time to take the family to the ol’ ballpark to watch the hometown Pawtucket Red Sox. Last Wednesday, they continued their pre-Memorial Day weekend series against the visiting Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. The game started off as a small pitcheing duel between PawSox starter LHP Roenis Elias and Iron Pigs starter David Buchanon for the first couple of innings. However the PawSox broke things open in the bottom of the third inning with a 4-run, including 3 of a home run by DH Sam Travis. The PawSox added two more runs on the bats of 2B Mike Miller and RF Bryce Brentz while the Iron Pigs tacked on two runs of their own to make it 6-2. Elias got the victory as he went 7.1 IP, giving up just 3 hits, 1 run, and two walks while striking out eight batters on 97 pitches (61 for strikes). After the game, PawSox Skipper Kevin Boles sat down with the media to discuss his team’s performance, Elias’ outing, and much more. Click Play to Listen |
