Last Friday night marked a special date in Pawtucket Red Sox history with the inauguration of the PawSox Hall of Fame. PawSox players, coaches, executives, and the McCoy faithful watched as former PawSox beloved team owner and fan favorite, the late Ben Mondor (represented by his widow Madeleine Mondor), along with former PawSox (and Boston Red Sox and MLB Hall of Famers) players OF Jim Rice (1973-74) & Wade Boggs (1980-81) were enshrined into the newly established team hall of fame.
PawSox fans watched and listen as each inductee gave a heart-filled speech as the ceremony took place before Friday night's game between the home team and the visiting Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
After the conclusion of the inaugural celebration, the media was given a chance to speak with both Jim Rice and Wade Boggs. The two PawSox Hall-of-Famers discuss a multitude of topics such as what it means to be inducted into the PawSox Hall of Fame, the connections they had with fellow inductee Ben Mondor, what it was like playing in the minor league system back during their times compared to now, and much more. For those who are fans of baseball, this is one interview you must listen to. Click Play to Listen |
