We are less than 2 weeks away from Selection Sunday in NCAA Men's Basketball, and several New England teams hold claim to a spot in the brackets. The URI Rams are off to a record pace, the PC Friars have cracked the Top 25 -- and schools like UConn, Harvard, and Yale are trying to polish their résumés in time to impress the selection committee. Check out where your favorite New England school ranks in WBOB's College Hoops Power Ranking Cream of the Crop 1. Rhode Island Rams (19-6) URI is off to its best start in conference play in school history, sitting atop the A-10 (Tied with #22 VCU). They have won 8 of their last 9, including three in a row by a total of 44 points. They face a tough Davidson (19-6) team at home on Wednesday, and play at LaSalle (15-12) on Saturday. If the Rams can rattle off a couple of wins, they may find themselves in the Top 25. 2. Providence College Friars (19-8) The Friars cracked the AP Top 25 this week, landing in the #25 slot. They beat up on DePaul (12-16) last week on the road, but face #6 Villanova (25-2) in Philadelphia this week. They also have a tough matchup with #23 Butler looming in early in March. 3. Harvard Crimson (19-5) Having won 8 straight, the Crimson will likely take the Ivy League crown and earn their 4th consecutive NCAA berth under coach Tommy Amaker. They stil;l have to face Ivy-rivals Brown and Yale, but Harvard looks to have the conference locked up. 4. Connecticut Huskies (15-11) 2014-15 has been a bit of a down year for the defending National Champion Huskies, as they currently sit in the middle of the pack in the less-than-stellar AAC. They will likely have to reach their conference finals in order to draw an at-large bid in March. 5. Massachusetts Minutemen (16-11) UMass had won 6 straight before dropping two tough road games last week (#22 VCU and URI). They do, however, have the fortune of an easy schedule to close out the season -- with just one opponent with a winning record. The Minutemen could easily clear the slate and finish with a 20-win season. Worth Noting 6. Yale Bulldogs (19-8) 7. Northeastern Huskies (19-10) 8. Vermont Catamounts (16-11) 9. New Hampshire Wildcats (17-10) 10. Quinnipiac Bobcats (14-13) Hanging In 11. Bryant Bulldogs (13-14) 12. Boston College Eagles (9-17) 13. Brown Bears (12-15) 14. Hartford Hawks (13-14) 15.
