Just a little over a week ago the skies in NY were beginning to clear. The Bronx Bombers found themselves in first place despite all the high profile injuries. The return of place setter and golden glove Curtis Granderson made for a swing in recent fortunes. Instead of losing a star, they were gaining one. Finally some of that expensive talent was actually on the field.
That came crashing to a screeching halt Friday as Granderson was struck on the left hand by a pitch from Tampa's Cesar Ramos. X-Rays revealed a fracture forcing Granderson out of action for at least another month. Ironically he had already missed 38 games to start the 2013 campaign after being struck on the right hand. Granderson was hit by J.A. Happ as part of the first spring training game.
Granderson's Season: By the Numbers
Games Played - 8 Games Missed - 38 Broken Bones - 2 Expected to miss - 1 month
