Hello to all PawSox fans. Welcome to another episode of the PawSox Weekly Update here on WBOB Sports. During this past week, the weather went from freezing to a furnace. That means one thing and one thing only: summer is just around the corner for the boys of McCoy. Now as we go from spring into summer, the PawSox will be starting their summer battle to get into the Governors' Cup playoffs in September.
A Week in Review
Things this week didn’t start off on the right foot as the PawSox finished up a road trip series with the Buffalo Bison in Buffalo, NY. They lost their final game of the series 2-1 and ended up losing the series as well (1-3). They took Monday off before returning to Pawtucket for a 6-game stand. The PawSox first hosted the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (5/24-5/26) as they won the series 2-1 but were outscored (14 runs to 12 runs). They then hosted the Indianapolis Indians for the first meeting of the series between the two teams (5/27-5/29). The Indians took the first game of the series on Friday, winning 4-2. Where They Stand As the month of May comes to a close, the PawSox are currently hovering around the .500 mark in the North Division of the International League at 23-25 (.479). This include an 11-14 record at home and a 12-11 record on the road. They are also currently 4.5 game behind divisional leaders Scranton/Wilks Barre Railriders (27-21 (.563)). They’ll finish up that series on May 29 for heading onto the road for a 7-game road series on May 30 to play the Gwinnett Braves (5/30-6/1) in Lawrenceville, GA, before finishing the road trip with a weekend series against the Norfolk Tides in Norfolk, Virginia (6/2-6/4). |
