What a week it has been... the Bruins, Celtics, and Friars have accomplished some Impressive feats, we survived another truck day, and we have been exposed to multiple unique news stories regarding everyone's favorite simple-minded tight end. So let's get right to the recap of the week in New England Sports... Rondo WHo?Celtics: 25-23 The C's lost Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger last week, but haven't skipped a beat. Winners of 5 straight, this team is cruising thanks to the play of Barbosa, Terry, and Lee. They are making the most of their increased playing time, and have started to show us that Rondo's importance may have been overstated. They have been shopping Garnett in an attempt to add depth to their front court, but that has not fazed the 18 year veteran, as he dropped 27 points and 10 rebounds on Toronto Wednesday night. More Than You Could Ever RaskBruins: 7-1-1 After allowing Buffalo to make a 3rd period comeback last Thursday, the Bruins bounced back with a couple impressive wins North of the border this week. Krecji's (6 Assists) playmaking has set up some great goals from Marchand, Horton and Seguin. The defense has continued to play well, behind the play of Chara and Dougie Hamilton... and Tuukka Rask continues to stand on his head, with a 1.97 GAA in 8 games played. Marching Towards MadnessLet's take a look at the Rhode Island college hoops teams and see how they rank this week: 1) PC Friars (12-11): Their record isn't overly impressive, but big wins against Nova and #17 Cincy this week earns the Friars the top spot. 2) Bryant (15-6): The Bulldogs continue to roll through the NEC, and may be headed toward their first ever taste of March Madness. 3) Brown (8-10): At 2-2 in the Ivy League, the Bears still have a chance, but this team seems destined for mediocrity. 4) URI (6-15): Lamar Odom isn't walking through that door. Despite playing well against some formidable opponents, the Rams have lost 5 straight, including a 28 point beat down by UMass on Wednesday. Maybe next year Rhody. Feeding The MonsterTuesday was a Federal Holiday in Red Sox Nation: Truck Day. The special day in which desperate fans are invited to witness the team's equipment being loaded into an 18-wheeler at Fenway, and shipped down to Southwest Florida. While it is a pointless exercise driven by the ownership group's need for money and attention, it is New England's version of Groundhog Day... Only 3 More weeks until baseball! A Tight End and His Wide ReceiverThere hasn't been much news out of Foxboro this week, unless you are referring to Rob Gronkowski, who has made headlines for a couple different reasons: First, he risked re-breaking his forearm (again) while attempting to DDT his brother at a Super Bowl Party in Vegas. Then, on Thursday, sex.com announced a bounty... They are offering Gronk $3.75 Million to star in an exclusive porn scene with his gal pal, Bibi Jones. Do you, Gronk! Do You! That wraps up this week's edition of Wicked Good Sports. For more on sporting news from New England and beyond tune into Psycho Sports every Tuesday at 7 PM.
