Pal - [email protected] Changes are coming to the RI GOP's internal structure. RI Rep Doreen Costa announced today on the popular 990WBOB.com talk show the Wild Side, that she is stepping down as the party's finance director. During her weekly segment with host Professor David Clyde, she broke the news publicly for the first time. "I just decided to move on because I needed stability," said the Representative of District 31, which includes Exeter and North Kingstown. "I took on another job, I am stressing to everybody to still support the Republican party," Costa went on to say that "this was an appointed position."
Doreen has gained quite a bit of attention both locally and nationally since her election in 2010. Most recently, with her gun raffle RI Republican fundraiser. Gaining the attention of some of the nation's largest media outlets as well as RI Governor Lincoln Chafee who publicly criticized her. Yet most people locally know her as the kind hearted, political spitfire. Not afraid to tell it, how she sees it. Passionate for Rhode Island's well being, she often finds herself in opposition to "bussiness as usual" and often rallying for a cause. Doreen Costa is an everyday community hero.
