Glocester School Bus Monitor Arrested for Child Pornography

Glocester school bus monitor Joseph Such Jr. (age 30,  95 Putnam Pike, Glocester, RI) was arrested by the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Friday for Possession of Child Pornography and Transfer of Child Pornography.

Such Jr. was arrested as a result of information received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that an individual was transferring images of child pornography using an email account. Members of the ICAC Task Force investigated the complaint and traced the reported activity to 95 Putnam Pike, Glocester, Rhode Island. This morning members of the ICAC Task Force executed a court authorized search warrant at that address where alleged child pornography was located and digital media including a laptop and cellular telephone were seized for further analysis.

Joseph Such Jr. is employed as a school bus monitor by Hopkins Transportation, 1378 Snake Hill Road, North Scituate, Rhode Island. Mr. Such was assigned to bus route #53, which transports kindergarten through fifth grade students in western Glocester. Although the investigation is ongoing, there is no evidence that indicates Mr. Such Jr. has had any inappropriate contact with children.

He was arraigned Friday in Sixth Division District Court, Garrahy Judicial Complex, One Dorrance Plaza, Providence.

A person found guilty of Possession of Child Pornography may be subject to a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000), or imprisoned not more than five (5) years, or both. A person found guilty of Transfer of Child Pornography may be subject to a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000), or imprisoned for not more than fifteen (15) years, or both.
