The Rhode Island Center for Freedom & Prosperity will hold a press conference early Thursday morning, immediately preceding the scheduled state Planning Council vote to adopt the controversial RhodeMap RI plan into the state's official Guide Plan.
Working alongside the recently formed citizens group, PRARI, the Center is inviting individuals and organizations that oppose the plan to attend a protest rally as part of the press conference, then proceed into the planning council meeting, where public comments are scheduled to be heard. A conclusion to the rally will occur after the planning council meeting.

The rally is expected to attract well-over 100 people - from state and local lawmakers, city and town councils, as well as various taxpayer groups, advocacy organizations, and other concerned Rhode Island residents - all who are outraged that the state of Rhode Island is considering to adopt a plan that would lead to an increase in property taxes, further weaken the state economy, infringe on individual property rights, and would cede local housing and land-use decisions to a federal agency.

Among the notable individual and organizations in opposition to RhodeMap RI that are expected to attend are:
  • The RI Farm Bureau - chartering a bus to the rally
  • Representatives Morgan, Chippendale, Costa, Giarrusso - plus multiple Senator- and Rep-elects
  • The Towns of Scituate, Foster, Hopkington, E. Greenwich, and Exeter - each passed resolutions calling for a halt to the vote
  • Federated RI Sportsmen Club
  • PRARI
  • RI Taxpayers Association
  • OSTPA
  • RI Tea Party
  • The Libertarian Party of RI

Many other groups are expected to attend. A more comprehensive list will be released early Thursday morning and announced at the press conference.
