State Police estimate that 50 and 100 cars were involved in a Friday morning crash on Interstate 93 just South of the White Mountains in New Hampshire. Shortly after 9:30 a.m., A sudden snow squall hit the area., and limited visibility on the highway, The northbound side of I-93 north of Exit 24 was shut down. The crashes occurred sometime after 10:30 a.m. Friday near Ashland, which is about 40 miles north of Concord. The accidents happened in the northbound lanes, which are currently closed to traffic. Traffic was heavy, police said, with many drivers likely heading for a ski weekend.
