In a statement released Wednesday, Executive Director of the RIGOP Robert Paquin III discussed President Obama's visit this Friday, October 31st. Speaking about the purpose of the visit, Paquin said "If President Obama thinks that visiting this Friday will be a treat for Gina and Rhode Island, he has got it all wrong. We see through his tricks - he hasn't been welcome in nearly any battleground state by incumbent Democrats and he is coming to the only state he thinks will accept him, but Rhode Islanders know better. Between the VA failures, the IRS Scandal, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and the multi-million dollar cost of our new healthcare exchange, Rhode Island voters know that Obama coming here to stump for Gina is nothing but smoke and mirrors and they are ready for a real leader - Rhode Island is ready for Allan Fung." Regarding the recent visit of the Republican Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, Chairman Mark Smiley said "Rhode Islanders welcomed Chris Christie to Rhode Island with open arms, and they did so for one reason: Christie is a governor who has gotten things done and worked with people across the political spectrum. Allan Fung has done the same in Cranston, and he will do the same at the State House." |
