In July 2005, the sequel to Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects was released.
13 years later, is it possible that we may get the next installment in the saga of the Firefly family? According to industry rumors, that very thing could be in the works.
According to websites Bloody Disgusting and MovieWeb, the re is a real chance of us seeing another movie involving the Fireflies, detailing how they survived driving through a fury of gunfire at the close of The Devil’s Rejects. Bloody Disgusting has reported that Rob Zombie is in negotiations with Saban Films and Lionsgate to get the film out into theaters and a VOD deal.
Will this project be crowdfunded like with 31? Are the fans ready for another installment to this film franchise? We will soon find out, if the rumors are true, it could start filming as early as this March.
It's obvious that fans, myself included, would love to see another movie from this universe.
Many of Zombie's more recent films have been largely panned by genre fans, especially those who loved The Devil's Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses -- I, in particular -- enjoy his films. Zombie's cinematographic style and his casting choices make each film unique, offering something unique from genre norms.
While Rob Zombie has carved out a name for himself as a filmmaker, it is his prowess as a musician that makes him so prolific. With a new album in production, and no tour dates until later in 2018, this could be the perfect time to start a new project.
