This past week Hollywood and it's fans lost a stand up guy. By now we are all aware of actor Paul Walker's tragic death. The 40 year old was taken to soon from this world. A not so subtle reminder as to how fragile life is. How every moment is precious. Walker's passing as sad as it is, has not been the most tragic celebrity accident. Compiled this week in remembrance rather than humor is the Top Five Tragic Celebrity Crashes.

#5 - Sam Kinison -  The 80's was a golden era for bad boy, out of control comics. Sam Kinison was a loud mouth, in your face, often raunchy performer.  His work besides performing stand up on the biggest stages included an HBO special, multiple film roles and five of comic albums. Kinison was at the top of the comedic world when his car was hit head on by a drunk driver in April 1992 on US RT 95. He was just 38 when he was killed.

#4 - Randy Rhoads - The former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist died in a tragic plane crash while on tour in 1982. Rhodes was only 25 when he died however his influence musically can still be heard today. His guitar style was refereed to as powerful and innovative. Even today is widely regarded as on of the best guitarist in history.

#3 JFK Jr - The eldest son of the former president John F Kennedy Jr was an American socialite, journalist, lawyer, and magazine publisher. The nations favorite son, Women adored him, men wanted to be him. His death sent the country into mourning . John his wife and sister in law died on July 16th 1999 when their plane piloted by John crashed.

#2 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens & JP "The Big Bopper" Richardson - This tragic crash changed the history of music forever. On February 3rd 1959 a small plane charted by Holly crashed shortly after take off killing three of America's brightest stars and the pilot. Refereed to by Don McClean as "the day the music died" the three young rock stars have gone on to live forever in music history even after their sudden deaths.

#1 James Dean - The epitome of cool. The classic iconic face of an entire generation. James Dean was not just an actor, he was a sex symbol.  A renegade or as his most famous film was titled "A Rebel Without a Cause". He was a star not only on the big screen but on Broadway as well. Dean's true passion was auto racing. In the months leading up to his death he was preparing to return competitively to the track. On September 30, 1955, Dean was driving his new Porsche 550 Spyder when he was involved in a head-on collision. James Dean was 24 years old at the time of his death.
