How One Stanford Student is Creating a Business Out of Ideas

Project 100, a web-based startup, launched last month on a mission to "Democratize Idea Sharing." Founder and Stanford University Junior Claire Abraham describes the website as "a platform for people to showcase their ideas and gain recognition for their brilliance."

​Using the platform, users can share their ideas with videos, text, and images. Through a community-driven voting system, the top 100 ideas are featured on the website's Project 100 List.

​As a student at one of the top Universities in the world, Abraham has been immersed in a community that thrives on idea sharing. Students hoping to share their ideas will typically write an article in the campus newspaper; professors will publish their ideas in academic journals.

For those outside of a University setting, there are few avenues to effectively share ideas with the public online. Of course, there are social media sites where younger generations are sharing ideas, but the reach those ideas have is largely dependent on having a substantial amount of followers. The reality for most ideas is that even if they do end up on the web, they're bound to go unnoticed amongst its vast amount of content.

When it comes to sharing ideas online, there are multiple routes but none as democratic, barrier-free, and open as Project 100. As the ideas come in and the votes are cast, Project 100 will pave their way to become a platform where the best ideas win.
