This has been the topic of discussion the past couple weeks after outspoken Dallas Maverick owner, Mark Cuban stated he would draft Griner in the NBA Draft. Which leads fans asking well can she play in the NBA? I have a few opinions that may help lay the questions to rest.

Let me start by saying that I believe that Brittney Griner is a tremendous athlete and an incredible basketball player. Do I personally think she can play in the NBA?

no.

She plays PF/C for Baylor her height is 6'8' that would make her a small forward in the NBA, Which means she would have to change her whole style of play that made her so dominant. She would playing against the likes of Durant, Lebron, Melo, and Pierce. Her go to move is that incredible turn around post jumper she has, In my opinion will not work in the NBA against any of those defenders. Her Defense is post defense, in the NBA she would have to learn Perimeter defense relatively fast. Sixty minutes of running with Lebron, Durant, or Melo while trying to adapt to a new style of Defense, I just do not see it.

I do not feel there is any woman who could play in the NBA. It is possible that Griner maybe could be a role player, but it would take a few years for her to develop just for that. So my answer would have to be no, But anything is possible.
