Just a day away from the 2014 NFL season and it's business as usual in Foxboro. All world Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, says he's ready for action and opening day. Just nine months after reconstructive surgery to repair his right ACL the big target feels healthy enough to be n the field this Sunday against Miami. However Bill Belichick suggests otherwise. "Well, I'm glad that Rob's optimistic about his situation. We'll go through the week of practice and take a look at everything, everybody and see where everybody is at and do what we feel like is best for the team. With all due respect to Rob, I'm glad he feels the way he does but in the end, we'll have to make the decision that we feel is best for the team and we'll do that as we go through the week." Belichick said according to yahoo sports.

Michael Sam A Cowboy

The Dallas Cowboys officially signed defensive end Michael Sam today. Originally drafted by the Rams Sam did not make the cut last weekend. However Jerry Jones has decided to perhaps capitalize on the Rams decision and bring in the leagues first openly gay player.

New Arm In Oakland

Rookie Derek Carr of the Oakland Raiders, who was named the starter yesterday by head coach Dennis Allen, will make his first NFL start this Sunday on the road against the New York Jets. Carr earned the starting nod with a strong  performance during training camp and the preseason, completing 30 of 45 passes (66.7 percent) for 326 yards and four touchdowns with a 108.2 passer rating. As a senior at Fresno State in 2013, he led the NCAA in total offense (5,199), passing yards (5,082) & passing touchdowns (50). His brother David was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2002 NFL Draft and played 11 seasons with the Texans, Panthers, Giants and 49ers.

Welker On Drugs

Denver receiver and former Patriot Wes Welker was suspended for four games yesterday for testing positive of a banned substance. Welker reportedly tested positive for MDMD aka Molly after attending the Kentucky Derby. He strongly denies using drugs or even the knowledge as to what Molly is.
Wilson Ready To Repeat

RUSSELL WILSON led the Seahawks to the franchise’s first Super Bowl championship last year and became the fourth quarterback to win a Super Bowl in his first or second season in the league. Wilson guided Seattle to a 13-3 record in 2013 and his 24 victories are the most by a quarterback in his first two seasons during the Super Bowl era. Wilson, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons, posted a 101.2 passer rating last year and is the only player in NFL history to record a 100+ rating in both his rookie and second season. He threw 26 touchdown passes last year and his 52 career TD passes are tied for the second-most by a player in his first two seasons in NFL annals.
