 Rep. Robert B. Lancia (R-Dist. 16, Cranston) will be present at tonight’s All-Star Game of the Providence Midnight Basketball League to present House citations to many of the league’s organizers. The game will take place at 6:15 p.m. at the Alex and Ani City Center, 2 Kennedy Plaza, inProvidence. Representative Lancia will present the citations at halftime.
The Providence Midnight Basketball League was organized by several volunteers with funding from several sources, including the city of Providence, to create a nighttime event that would promote a sense of community in the city and be an antidote to nighttime violence. The all-volunteer league plays its games around Providence at Bucklin Park, Gano Street Park, Davey Lopes Park, and Davis Park. |
