There a multitude of sporting events and going-ons in the first couple of months that people pay attention to and 2018 is no different. While everybody is gearing up for the Olympics, NBA-All Star Week, and the Super Bowl, there are still some bidding their time until spring time comes. That’s when you slap on a glove, head out onto the diamond, and get ready for America’s pastime. Over the past few months, there have been a plethora of MLB news and stories that have been discussed over the water coolers at work or flown under the radar. However out of all the MLB stories, there were nine that had everybody talking. Which stories were they? Let's find out.
Rep. Aaron Regunberg (Dist. 4, Providence) and Sen. Jeanine Calkin (Dist. 30, Warwick) today announced their introduction of legislation to provide all Rhode Islanders access to affordable health care by establishing a single-payer health care system in the state.
The legislation seeks to protect Rhode Islanders from federal attacks on the Affordable Care Act, Medicare and Medicaid and repair problems with the current health insurance system. The sponsors are also introducing resolutions asking Rhode Island’s federal legislators to support national single payer legislation.

No matter what you did last weekend, you weren’t having as much fun as the several hundred people at Fete Music Hall in Providence, where Green Jellÿ (and/or Green Jello, for those in the know) brought their punk-rock-puppet-show to town as part of a stacked bill for Freakfest 9. |
