After a great debut to the New England faithful in their Week 1 victory, QB Cam Newton was the talk of all the townies in Massachusetts. But beating a rebuilding team like the Dolphins was to be expected. Traveling across the country to play against a perennial team with an MVP-caliber quarterback, however, would prove to be more of a litmus test and whether or not the 2020 Patriots were still capable of hanging with the big boys. On a Sunday night showdown, the Patriots travelled to Seattle to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Without the infamous ‘12th Man’ in the stands, the Patriots had one less thing to be concerned. They still, however, had to find a way to beat the Seahawks.  Mark Colley
Donald Trump is playing some sort of game with the lifeline of TikTok. In August, the president signed an executive order that will effectively ban the video-making social media platform unless it is sold to an American company by Sept. 20, a deadline that looms just days away. Yet pushes by American companies have, so far, been unsuccessful. A joint bid from Microsoft and Walmart failed to win the day, and now Oracle, a database company, seems to be leading the pack. So what sort of political game is Trump playing, and why did he get himself into this mess? On Sunday June 28, 2020, a mob of approximately 100 Black Lives Matter and Antifa “protesters” decided to take their demonstration right to the home of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson and demand her resignation. In order to do this, the protesters would have to break through a gate and trespass on private property, which they did without hesitation. Along the way they ran into Mark and Patricia McCloskey. Mark and Patricia McCloskey are, of course, the St. Louis couple who went viral when videos of them defending their home with legally owned firearms from a mob that stormed their property hit social media. The same mob who threatened to burn down their home, kill them and kill their dog. Immediately the left and the media began painting the BLM and Antifa mob, the ones who broke the law, as the victims and the McCloskey’s, the ones who broke no laws, as the criminals.  Ryan L. Fox
Well everybody, after a 2020 of uncertainty and change, the familiar sounds of grunts and pads smashing against each other echoed throughout Gillette Stadium. Football was back in Foxborough as the New England Patriots were back in business for the NFL 2020 season. However this would mark for the first time in 20 years that the Patriots organization would not have Tom Brady on their team as he left the team in free agency this past offseason. In their first game in the post-Brady era, the team welcomed in their AFC Divisional rival Miami Dolphins. Yes, the same Dolphins that came to Gillette in Week 17 and knocked the Patriots out of No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff down to the No. 4 seed. With revenge on the mind and looking to start the 2020 season on the right foot, the Patriots and Dolphins squared off on a sunny, brisk Sunday in September. |
