As Election Day looms closer, candidates for offices ranging from City Councilor to Governor have entered into the final push to win over undecided voters, flip votes from their opponents, and re-energize their base.
 
Governor Raimondo’s supporters are pushing both attack and positive ads, along with sending out mailers to Republican voters touting the Trumpian independent Joe Trillo as more in-line with President Trump than Republican Allan Fung, attempting to syphon hard-right voters away from Republican Allan Fung and towards Mr. Trillo.

While the most recent independent polling numbers show Raimondo being in command of the race, Mr. Trillo has released his own “internal polling numbers” that indicate he is closing in on Governor Raimondo, and Mr. Fung has faded well out of contention.

There also remains the factor of the three less-known candidates, independent Dr. Luis-Daniel Muñoz, Compassion Party’s Anne Armstrong and Moderate Party’s Bill Gilbert, and whether they will amass any sizable percentage of the vote individually, or as a bloc, effectively altering the shape of the election.

In the midst of the cacophonous political climate, with operatives bombarding the airwaves with advertising and press releases, there remains an opportunity for you, The Rhode Island voter, to evaluate most candidates without falling for the trappings of their generic narrative.  

Before voting this Tuesday, if you have not done-so already, examine this election through the alternative, independent and more substantial media outlets.  Please take a moment to step away from the political machine that is designed to manufacture consent (the ads, the polls, the mailers, etc), and take a read, listen or watch some of the below links.  They should help you understand the human beings at play, and evaluate their vision, positions and authenticity.
