The New England Patriots faced off in in AFC Championship game rematch against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars got their revenge on the Patriots for the 24-20 victory the Patriots had over them back in January with a 31-20 victory on Sunday. In the AFC Championship game Tom Brady was able to lead the Patriots back with a miraculous fourth quarter comeback, but he was not able to duplicate that magic this time around. There were some glaring concerns that I have noticed in the Patriots first two games this season, that were especially more noticeable against the Jaguars.

URI Football walked out onto Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field on Saturday in a great position. Should they beat the University of Connecticut, they would advance to 3-0 - tying Jim Fleming’s career high for wins in a season and heading back into Kingston with their best record in years. Should they lose, they would go straight to the bank, cashing a check for playing up a division and looking ahead to the Harvard Crimson after the bye week.

On January 21, the Jacksonville Jaguars rolled into Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots with a chance to face the winner of the NFC Championship game in Super Bowl LII. After 4 quarters of smash mouth, physical football, the Patriots emerged victorious 24-20. Fast forward to Sunday as the Patriots travelled down to Jacksonville for a Week 2 rematch between the two teams. Would things be different this time? Would Jacksonville avenge their loss and show to everybody that they are ready to be a part of the elites of the AFC? Or would it just be business as usual for the Patriots? After 60 minutes, it was clear who wanted this game more.

For the second straight Rhode Island Gubernatorial election we will be having a rematch between the two same major party candidates- Gina Raimondo and Allan Fung. Both candidates Raimondo [Democrat] and Fung [Republican] won their party’s nomination easily, beating their opponents in the primaries. |
