Television lovers will be pleased come February, as the Netflix new release forecast looks promising. Netflix users will be able to ride out the remaining cold winter months with the following titles, plus more.

M*A*S*H 
Coming: 2/1

Netflix will bring subscribers back to 1973 with the addition of this classic war series. M*A*S*H is the comic but harrowing representation of Korean War medics, the title of the show an acronym for Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. Starring a young Alan Alda, as the infamous Hawkeye Pierce, the show is just as dramatically insightful as it is funny. A must watch for those interested in war or classic television.

Spartacus 
Coming: 2/1

Blood, blades, and lust. Spartacus, which only finished airing in 2013, takes viewers back to the violence and volatility of ancient Rome. Based on a historical figure, a roman gladiator of the title name, Spartacus depicts (in Hollywood fashion) a chapter of Roman history that was particularly characterized by rebellion and bloodshed. Those awe-inspired by the 300 franchise should definitely check the show out.

Coming: 2/1

Departures, a documentary-like show, follows Scott Wilson and Justin Lukach on trips around the world. The two friends, hell-bent on adventure and a good time, immerse themselves in the culture of countries such as Cambodia, India, Iceland, and many more. 

The show has been described as being about the journey, rather than just the destinations.

Richie Rich 
Coming: 2/20

Netflix will launch Richie Rich, a new online TV series, following the success of other original series, such as House of Cards, Marco Polo, and Lilyhammer. The show will center around Richie Rich himself, a wealthy adolescent with a penchant for mischief. The show carries a household familiarity as Richie Rich has appeared in both animated television series and a movie in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

House of Cards - Season 3
Coming: 2/27

Perhaps the most well-received of the Netflix original series, House of Cards will return to Netflix this February for a third season. Boasting one of the darkest casts of politicians in television history, the show chronicles the treachery and intricacy of life in Washington D.C. Actor Kevin Spacey, starring as brute politician Frank Underwood, took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Television Drama. The highly anticipated third season is sure to excite, and prove itself as more than just a political thriller.
