Evan McKay Whoo man! That E3 was Hotttt! That's a lot of t's on the end of the word because that's how sizzling this E3 was! Nintendo really came out swinging this year, although it may not be enough mustard to dress this sad dry hot-dog of Wii U. Microsoft continued its trend of backpedaling and under delivering, at least some of that Halo stuff looks cool! Master Chief is my boy! Then Sony was pretty much somewhere right in the middle. They are trying new stuff, and really just not blowing it like the E3's of sony's past...Giant enemy crab... $599 US Dollars... etc. Plus all this great third party biz.... My, oh My! Nintendo dropped a falcon punch of an announcement. Zelda for Wii U! This game looks like the LoZ game we deserve. Just an open field with link? astride a horse. Then suddenly a large laser-shooting, hyrule field demon crawls up from the foreground, and link gallops away dodging laser blasts. A chase ensues and something magical happens. Nintendo is not ready to give in just yet! This Trailer made me want a Wii U... This is the best possible scenario for Nintendo! Assassin's creed Unity showed some flash with its four player co-op mode and amazing visuals. This game play trailer floored me with its 18th century Paris in utter chaos. Pile of furniture in the streets, mob decapitations and high parkour of many assassin's tumbling climbing and stabbing. Two things surprised me the most! The brief glimpse of open combat they show us actually looks challenging! I do not wish to play a the game where you can kill 15 trained soldiers in under 45 seconds by just pressing x while holding down R2, it is old and mind numbing. It looked like the assassins were only very slightly outnumbered and it took longer then 1 minute! The other is unfortunately rather shitty. A senior developer has said that it would be too hard to have a female assassin... DUFUQ?!?! That is a really awful sentiment. They are Ubisoft for Christ's sake!!!! I guess having untold millions is not enough to include a female protagonist in a video game. You have to play as four brooding dudes, as usual. I could see it being difficult, women do have entirely different bone structures and biology. Ubisoft does start at the skeletal level so I see it being an additional project. However the idea that, there is no need is truly stupid. I have been waiting a very long time to play a female assassin, sadly I have not played the game where you get to play as Aveline. There should really be a woman championing the revolution, as there were many in USA revolution and also in France, Despite the middling fare of the Sony conference of Dark Shooter, almost too dark to even see... and Microsoft not really showing anything except that they have the Halo license (Master Chief is my boy though!) Mortal Kombat showed one hell of a game play trailer! It had the Classic Scorpion vs Sub-Zero and a pair of new comers fighting for there lives with amazing physics! These guys had some bad ass moves. It brought back some of the X-Ray takes of bones cracking and organs bruising of the Mortal Kombat of 2011. There is a whole bunch of environmental feature to take advantage of, such as Sub-Zero freezing a branch and using it as a sword, to the weird Blaster-Master new guy throwing corpses from the river at bullet like speed. Then of course the fatalities. Gone are the Bullshit fatalities of MK vs DC, and that awful Teen rating, gross! A Mortal Kombat game without a mature rating is like a day without sunshine! This E3 was awesome! I am very excited about all these games that are coming out! Let us hope they are all released on time and not pushed back another 6-12 months! Let's get this MF'in generation started! |
