Happy November?! For some reason musicians love to write songs about November. Other than Thanksgiving what is so great about this month? In this week's edition of my top five we explore the top five November songs.

#5 - The Gorrilaz - November Has Come

As is the case with most of their work November has come is a fun hip track. A bob your head lazy rainy day kind of tune.

#4 - The National - Mr. November

A typical rock ballad piece. In the line with the bands of the time. The Killers, My Chemical Romance etc. Yet there exists a certain pop edge that helps a song like this carry over into the mainstream.

#3 - Carbon Leaf - November

Straight out of Virginia Carbon Leaf offers a fine blend of indie rock and folk. Throw in a noticeable REM influence and you got yourself a hit. Currently on tour Carbon Leaf can be seen in Boston on Nov 16th

#2 - Wyclef Jean - Gone Til November

"See you must understand I can't work a 9 to 5" Ridiculously catchy. Well written. Wyclef with this hit established himself as a legitimate solo artist.

#1 - Guns N Roses - November Rain

At the height of their popularity GNR released this ultimate ballad. Nearly ten minutes in length. Packed with gripping guitar solos, a full symphony and tempo changes. November Rain was as instant classic. The song broke through the charts even with it's dramatic length. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of this song is the video that came along with it. GNR spared no expense in it's mini movie production. Happy or sad this is the November track.
