The recently opened Ashaway RV Resort, located on 74 acres in the Burdickville section of Hopkinton, RI, is now accepting reservations for the 2015 season. The premier destination site for Rhode Island campers offers the option to reserve space on a daily or seasonal basis and is made up of 260 camping sites with room for pop-up tents, trailers and coaches. The RV community is designed to complement the area’s natural resources and maintain visual buffers to its neighboring community. The campground is conveniently located near golf courses, beaches, major shopping centers, and features modern day amenities including WiFi, cable TV, a propane filling station and a laundry service. “Our goal is to make sure all of our guests are happy and comfortable during their stay,” said Clint Ramsden, Owner of Ashaway RV Resort. “While Ashaway serves as a campground, it is first and foremost a resort – a place for fun and relaxation.” The resort offers access to a state of the art pool and lounge area with a heated adult-only whirlpool and a splash pad play area for kids. Guests have the option to participate in daily activities which include tennis, basketball, volleyball, bocce, bicycling and more. DiPrete Engineering, an engineering firm with offices in Providence, Newport and Boston, provided engineering and permitting support throughout the project including local and state approvals. “We designed a robust septic system that can handle a flow of 32,500 gallons per day,” said Eric Prive, a Project Manager at DiPrete Engineering. “That number includes wastewater from the pavilion, pool and laundry facilities. Individual RV pads have their own septic tanks that transfer wastewater to the community’s Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS) for nitrate reduction.” The septic system was designed with advanced treatment to reduce nitrogen by 50 percent. “As we continue to prepare for the upcoming season, we couldn’t be more excited,” said Ramsden. “We’re looking forward to a great year and encourage those in the area to come by Ashaway and take a look around our wonderful campground.” |
